The location was convenient, within walking distance of many amenities we wanted to visit.
An excellent location within easy walking distance of all aspects of the heart of Victoria. Outstanding assistance from hotel desk.
Lack of a desk in the room made it less tha convienient for computer work.
Our room had a good view, the bed was very comfortable, the staff were very helpful and the restaurant/lounge provided surprisingly good food. We stayed in 8 hotels during our trip and this was the best.
All staffs are freindly and wounderful.
Location was great staff were friendly and helpful , food was very good room was good size and very clean
would be nice if room had a small fridge
Great for location.
Habour wing building is really bad, but the tower building is ok. I booked the room in wing but upgraded to tower building.
It was walking distance to everything, very centralised we were put in the older building but was clean with partial view of the harbour if the trees and other buildings weren't so tall and you had to go outside of your room to see it, I was able to have my husbands attention since he had no internet service in the building, we enjoyed our visit to Victoriaand the hotels location was good but we would not stay there again. If asked we would tell them how it was maybe it'll be ok for other people
The building we were in had no internet service! They told us we could go to their lobby and would be able to use it there, we stayed 2 nights so when the room was cleaned the next day we did not get new soap, a small thing but it's nice to have a new bar of soap to shower in the morning since they are so small
Location and when I booked for the original date in May the price was good. By July the rate was not as good once they added in the taxes but the location was good
The Embassy is very well located in the heart of Victoria. There is great value for the money if you are looking for nice accomodations at a reasonable price. The rooms are a good size with nice furniture. The front desk staff were very helpful with suggestions for ammenities and attractions in the area.
Then only negative was that the mattress top was thin and we could feel the springs.
What I like The Embassy Inn best is the location.. I can look around the city just walking. Around the hotel, most of the attractions I want tour are located. So It is easy to access those places.
"No deposit will be charged" is in the booking details. But a lady at the front desk asked me to put out my credit card for deposit money. It was $160. The price we shoud pay was $107. But the lady insisted that we shoud pay a kind of deposit . When we checked out The Emabassy Inn. We paid the price in cash. And told the lady at the front desk to cancel the $160 pre- authorized from my credit card shoul be recoverd.at my account. She said "Yes, of course" the charged price will be canceled But the money hasn't been recovered yet . Please, answer me what is wrong with that.
The beds, bedroom.
The breakfast and the service in the breakfast room.very bad in quality considering the price.
Older but clean rooms with a kitchenette. Not crowded. It is at a great location very near the harbor in Victoria. A very good value.
The response of the staff to a minor problem was excellent, quick and efficient. The room was exceptionally clean. We really enjoyed the kitchenette since we had to on the go in the morning begore any restaurants would be open.
I would have preferrred some method of cooling the room down other than opening windows. Air conditioning should be added to the low building as well as the tower.
Location, value, friendly and helpful staff. I'm visiting from Kansas and came to the island to see Victoria and the Butchart Gardens. This is a perfect hotel to use as a "home base".
Stayed in the old section of the building. Very clean but the mattresses need to be replaced. I stayed the end of April and did not need air conditioning but if you are staying in the summer, you will need the air conditioning. Maybe they could use a fan to help circulate stale air.
- Location - I wanted to be close to the downtown area. Since I lived previously in James Bay, I wanted something in that area. Economy - I had some medical/dental appointments and other personal/business contacts and just wanted an inexpensive place to stay. I found the rates at the Embassy to be reasonable. -
I was very disappointed that there was no "food service" in the evening. I had stayed at the Embassy in late September last year for a night after vacating my apartment and at that time I was able to obtain a light "supper" in the Lounge however this seems to have been discontinued. I can't believe a hotel of your size couldn't make some provisions for serving an evening meal - there are a number of quick entrees that just need micro-waving and could be served with a quick salad which would be more than adequate and not require a fully- qualified chef. It was pouring rain and I didn't feel like going down the street to the recommended restaurant and the 10% off ticket given by the front desk only applied to full priced meals which I didn't want so this wasn't much help.
